The Compassionate Friends of Central NY Basket Raffle Fundraiser

Compassionate Friends of Central NY will be holding our annual basket raffle fundraiser at the Clay Historical Association Fall Festival on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This is our only fundraiser of the year to cover our expenses.

We are in need of basket makers! You can help, if you are able, by putting together a basket, in memory of your loved one, for the raffle. Any idea or theme is welcome. If you aren't able to make a basket, stop by the Fall Festival on September 20th from 11:00am-3:00pm and buy some raffle tickets or help us out at our table!

If you would like to support us, but do not want to make a basket, we also have a donate button at the bottom of this page.

For planning purposes, please let us know if you will be donating a basket. You can email tcfofcny@gmail.com or call Sue at 315-288-3789 and leave a message. We can arrange for pickup or for you to drop it off.

Thank you for your help!

We need not walk alone...

After a child dies, families mourn and begin the long process of bereavement. The many different emotions often experienced by bereaved families include shock, disbelief, sadness, loneliness, depression, fear, anger, regret, guilt, despair, and personal loss. These feelings are all part of the emotional reaction called “grief.” Feelings of grief may be overwhelmingly intense, and each family member may approach them differently. Some tend to keep feelings inside, while others are able to express their grief easily and openly.

The death of as child of any age, from any cause, is a devastating, life altering experience for a family. When a child dies, a family needs emotional support for the long grief journey ahead.

The Compassionate Friends of Central New York was established to offer comfort and support to families as they deal with their grief following the death of a child. Our chapter is one of more than 600 Compassionate Friends chapters in the United States.
